This term, we have been looking at Judaism and our focus question is How special is the relationship Jews have with God? We have looked at the agreements and ‘contracts’ we make every day in our lives, e.g. agreeing to tidy our rooms in return for time on the computer, agreeing to behave respectfully in school etc. We have investigated some stories from the Old Testament of the Bible/The Torah where God promised Abraham he’d look after all his descendants and where God gave Moses the Ten Commandments for Jews to agree to follow. We recently found out that all Jewish houses have a Mezuzah Scroll on every door frame containing prayers to God. We made our own scrolls promising things to our class.
