This half term in RE, we are studying symbols in Christianity and the overarching question What is the most significant part of the Nativity story for Christians today? We have listened to the Nativity story and thought about how Jesus symbolises light for Christians. Each part of our Christingles represents something important in Christianity: the orange=the world, the red ribbon = God’s love and Jesus’ blood spilled for us, the 4 sticks = the 4 seasons, the sweets = God’s gifts, and lastly the candle = Jesus, the light of the world.
