We celebrated Diversity Week this week by learning about the life of Ada Lovelace. She was alive in the first half of the 19th century and was a mathematician. This was unusual for the time as women weren’t encouraged to study these fields. She couldn’t go to university so her mother invited expert scientists and mathematicians to come and tutor her. Did you know, Ada Lovelace ended up writing the algorithms for one of the world’s earliest computers? She challenged gender stereotypes for the time and has inspired us this week.
