Year 4 Maths – lines of symmetry

Jun 12, 2023Maths

We have been looking this week at lines of symmetry. We learnt that a shape has symmetry if a central dividing line (a mirror line) can be drawn on it, to show that both sides of the shape are exactly the same. We explored this today by folding shapes and working out how many lines of symmetry they had. Some shapes, like the rhombus didn’t have any! And another shape had infinite lines of symmetry – can you guess which?
