Year 4 French – Masculine & Feminine

Mar 14, 2024Languages, Latest News

Building on our knowledge of silent letters in French, we began to look at nasal and oral pronunciations to support with our French speaking. We noticed that some vocabulary ends in a silent letter, and some end with the consonant sound and a silent ‘e’. This is because some words are masculine and some are feminine depending on who you are talking to or about. After we had a go at pronouncing these words, we looked at some text messages, but the phone was broken and we had to work out who the messages were for. We used our looking eyes to spot the masculine or feminine spelling of the adjectives.
