As part of Science week, Year 2 explored how coins have changed over time. We tested which coins were magnetic but then we were a little confused when one of the 20 pence coins was magnetic and another wasn’t. We then researched and found that copper coins made before 1992 were not magnetic, and any silver coins made before 2012 were not magnetic, as they’ve changed the materials they need to make them!
