This half term we have been looking at the topic of Space and our Solar System. Today, we were very lucky to be visited by Simon Rowland. He is an an astronomer and told us all about the different planets. He was very impressed with our knowledge so far and we could tell him the order of the planets.
Did you know that you can jump three times as high on Mars because of the lack of gravity? Did you know there is an ongoing storm on Jupiter called the Red Spot? Did you know that Venus has the most volcanoes?
Simon brought in some samples of different planets that we could look at and touch. We got to hold a chunk of moon rock and looked at the features of it. We noticed that there are similarities to rocks we might find on Earth’s surface.
